The Springer Family Adventures

We started our holiday camping trip on Christmas Eve. We opened our big gifts at home (big as in large, not camper friendly!) but had a talking Xmas tree DeAnn stole from work (they didn't miss it) for all of the presents.

Mostly, the kids received clothes, as did Randy and DeAnn... but as you can see from the photos below, they were very happy with what they opened!

Hot Springs Arkansas truly had hot springs... but the weather wasn't so hot. (We had sleet!)

At the Texans game in Houston, Danny tried his skills out at a field goal booth (and made it),
and then he posed in front of the stadium in his Texans garb. (Trader!)

On Galveston Island, our campground was right on the gulf. This picture was taken on NY Eve and we spent the entire day on the beach reading and playing frisbee. The water was very cold and 72° is not really swimsuit weather.

At night, all of the waves were glowing because of the algae that was churned up. We took video, but it's real hard to see so I couldn't upload it. Trust me... it was very awesome!

We made it to 12:05am to say "Happy New Year", had some gross champagne, and then crashed since we planned on getting up at 6am to start our trek back.

Our final two destinations were Lousiana and Arkansas (different side of the state than we started on.) Both sites were on a lake and the views were great. But, since it was 10° out, we played a lot of board games!
